Jaipur, Oct 26: BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Monday said values and the spirit of service are the defining features of Indian culture, stressing that good thoughts become meaningful only when translated into action.
Addressing a programme titled “Spiritual Awakening for World Renewal” organised by the Brahma Kumaris institution at Abu Road in Rajasthan's Sirohi district, Nabin said values acquire significance when they are reflected in service to society.
“Good thoughts become meaningful only when they become part of our values. Values hold great importance in Indian culture, and they become effective when they are put into practice through service,” he said.
Nabin said the spirit of service and dedication would help take the country forward, emphasising the importance of putting cultural values into practice in everyday life.
He also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, saying the prime minister was guiding the country with a similar spirit and believed that all 140 crore Indians should unite to work towards a common goal.
Speaking about the power of the mind, the BJP president said it could become both a source of bondage and a means of liberation, depending on how it was guided.
“The mind is the greatest strength. We must try to overcome the ego,” he said, underlining the importance of self-awareness and inner discipline.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and state BJP president Madan Rathore were also present at the programme.
