Lucknow, Sep 14: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday hailed the Indian women's cricket team for winning the Asia Cup, saying the "golden victory" will elevate India's pride to new heights and give new wings to the dreams of millions of daughters.
The Indian women's cricket team defeated Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the final on Sunday to lift the trophy.
In a post on X in Hindi, Adityanath said, "Historic, unprecedented, extraordinary...Heartfelt congratulations to each member of the Indian women's cricket team that won the Women's Asia Cup 2026 title, and heartfelt congratulations to all fellow citizens from the depths of my heart!"
"This golden victory of yours will elevate India's pride to new heights and also give new wings to the dreams of millions of daughters and new strength to their resolutions. You all are India's pride. Jai Hind," Adityanath said.
