JAMMU, SEPT 16 : General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P K Mishra, on Tuesday visited operational locations in the Surankote area of Poonch district to review the prevailing security situation and ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
According to the Army, the Corps Commander was briefed on ongoing operations aimed at maintaining domination across the Pir Panjal Range, along with the joint intelligence network and coordination among various security agencies.
Lieutenant General Mishra was accompanied by the GOC of Romeo Force, which is responsible for counter-insurgency operations in the twin border districts of Poonch and Rajouri.
During the visit, the Army Commander reviewed the operational preparedness of the forces and took stock of measures being undertaken to counter potential threats in the challenging terrain of the region.
The White Knight Corps said that the Corps Commander appreciated the professional conduct and commitment of personnel involved in the operations.
He also commended the ongoing efforts to prevent hostile elements from gaining operational space in the area, despite difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions.
The Army continues to maintain a strong security presence across the Pir Panjal region, with security forces working in coordination to strengthen intelligence gathering, area domination and counter-terrorism operations in Poonch and Rajouri.
